Jessamyn recunoaste ca nu are corpul unui profesor obisnuit de yoga, dar asta nu a impiedicat-o sa exerseze si mai ales sa predea. Spune pur si simplu ca se simte unica, iar cursantii sai sunt de aceeasi parere, din moment ce ii frecventeaza cele trei clase pe care le are pe saptamana. Dupa ce matusa sa a dus-o la un curs de hot yoga, dupa o experienta care i s-a parut adolescentei de 16 ani atunci "iadul pe pamant", Jessamyn a declarat cu inversunare ca este "anti-yoga". In 2011, s-a lasat induplecata de o prietena care a insistat sa mai incerce o data Bikram yoga si mai ales sa profite de o oferta de pe un site de reduceri. Asa a inceput totul. Pentru Stanley este mai important cum te simti cand faci yoga, nu cum arati. "Le spun mereu oamenilor (in special femeilor) sa nu mai trimita energii si ganduri negative catre corpurile lor. Aceasta energie negativa este responsabila pentru toata nefericirea corpului", a spus aceasta. When I’m asked "Why do you practice #yoga so much?" or "How do you get motivated to get on your mat?", I think I’m expected to rattle off a list of health benefits or exercise goals. But the only true reason I can muster is because my practice literally gives me life. It is my therapy- it pulls me through the darkest moments, the moments when the winds of change are blowing so agressively that my practice serves as the only piece of outerwear that counts. If you have ever struggled, if you’ve ever been pulled asunder, if you’ve ever lost focus- establish a home yoga practice. I promise you won’t regret it.
